The literal meaning of this word is aesthetic, which comes from the Greek "aisthetike" which means perception. This branch of philosophy studies beauty in its essence and perception. Plato was the first philosopher to speak of the term in his dialogues Hippias Major, Phaedrus, and The Banquet; in which there is a search for the universal concept of beauty, taking into account proportion, harmony and splendor.

Throughout history the concept of beauty has changed and in each period it has taken on a different meaning, which is why it is a subject of philosophical debate.

Nowadays, this term has become popular thanks to the influence of technology and social networks. In 2010, it took on a new meaning thanks to the vaporwave musical genre which had aesthetic visual elements that reflected the song.

The aesthetic vaporwave was inspired by the 80's and words in Japanese, these images gradually became viral on social networks such as Tumblr, Pinterest and Instagram.
