Barbie has been a part of the lives of generations of girls since she was created in 1959, transforming the toy industry and inspiring millions of girls through Barbie's different careers. All millennial girls and some of generation z remember the epic movies that marked our childhood, so today I bring you my top 5 movies of the most famous doll in the world.
5. Barbie the princess and the pauper

This 2004 film tells the story of Anneliese, a princess whose kingdom is in bankruptcy and because of this she is forced to marry a prince without even knowing him. In one of his secret outings to town she meets Erika, a simple girl who works as a seamstress but her passion is singing, Ericka is identical to Anneliese but with brown hair. However, the story takes a turn when Anneliese is kidnapped and Erika is challenged to impersonate the princess identity. Will she be able to achieve it and save her people?
4. Rapunzel

Rapunzel has lived all her life locked in a tower, curious to know the world and what lies beyond the wall. One day while investigating the tower, she finds a secret passageway that leads her to the town and there she meets Prince Stefan, however she has to flee before the evil witch Gothel realizes her absence.
3. 12 dancing princesses

This film tells the story of 12 playful princesses who live with their father since their mother died, wanting to impose a little order, the king asks her cousin Duchess Rowena for help, however she has other plans, so she poisons the king to try to stay with his kingdom. The princesses suffer locked up but Genevieve discovers a new world where they can dance freely. This film had the support of the New York City Ballet for the choreography in order to copy the dancers' movements to look more realistic instead of robotic.
2. Barbie in the swan lake

This movie is inspired by the Tchaikovsky classic and set to music by the London Symphony Orchestra, it's different from the classical one but with a fun and romantic touch, which teaches us that we can be braver than we think.

This was the first Barbie movie, released in 2001. The beautiful story of Clara which is involved in a conflict between the mouse king and the nutcracker that her aunt Elizabeth gave her as a present, causing her to get trapped in the world of Parthenia and her only hope is to find princess sugarplum to return to her world. This film won an award at the video premiere awards. The list could go on and on as there are currently many more modern barbie movies, but in this list I limited myself to my 5 favorites.
